United in Christ, Bound to Each Other
Presbyterian Women/Horizons Bible Study Leader Seminar
August 10-12, 2026
In this Bible study, we will explore the ideas of unity and connectedness, which are woven throughout Paul's first letter to the Corinthians. We will examine relationships, how we care for each other, and points of conflict in Christian community, as well as Paul's cautions against abuses of power. We will also discuss how our Christian identity is embodied through our connectedness in the body of Christ.
The study follows Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, a letter which calls for sharing abundant love, unity, and how to navigate living in Christian community as diverse people of faith. This letter is complex: it contains beloved, often quoted passages, while also containing verses which have been weaponized against marginalized people. Through it all, we will be in conversation with Paul and wrestle with what 1 Corinthians is saying to us today.
