Rev. Dr. Jake Myers
has served on the faculty of Columbia Theological Seminary for 10 years and currently serves as the Wade P. Huie, Jr. Associate Professor of Homiletics. He is an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA). Jake is the author of dozens of scholarly essays and has authored or co-authored 7 books. His latest releases include:
Stand-up Comedy, Theology, and Ethics
(Bloomsbury, 2025);
Preaching Philosophy: French Thought for Gospel Proclamation
(Baylor University Press, 2025; and
Stand-Up Preaching: Homiletical Insights from Contemporary Comedians
(Cascade, 2022). Jake has worked on staff in churches in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Georgia. Jake is also known as
The Preaching Doctor
, where he provides virtual preaching consultations to pastors wanting to take their preaching to the next level. Jake is also a certified yoga instructor and loves being able to connect his mind, body, and spirit in his yoga practice. He is passionate about teaching preaching and loves sharing that excitement with others. Jake will co-lead both Camino pilgrimages this summer.
Rev. Dr. Mark Douglas
has served on the faculty of Columbia Theological Seminary for 27 years. He currently serves as the J. Erskine Love Professor of Christian Ethics, Lead Professor for the ThM Degree, and founding director of Columbia’s Center for Theology and Contested Publics. He is an ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the PC(USA). He is the author of numerous books, including
Believing Aloud: Reflections on Being Religious in the Public Sphere
(Cascade, 2010),
Christian Pacifism for the Environmental Age
(Cambridge University Press, 2019), and
Modernity, the Environment, and the Just War Tradition,
(Cambridge University Press, 2022). Mark has decades of experience leading outdoor adventure excursions for clergy. He will co-lead the first Camino pilgrimage this summer (May 26-June 12).
Dr. Raj Nadella
has served on the faculty of Columbia Theological Seminary for 12 years and currently serves as the Samuel A. Cartledge Associate Professor of New Testament at Columbia Theological Seminary. His research interests include postcolonial biblical interpretation, migration and New Testament perspectives on economic justice. Raj is the author of
Dialogue Not Dogma: Many Voices in the Gospel of Luke
(Bloomsbury, 2011), co-editor of
Christianity and the Law of Migration
(Routledge, 2021), co-editor of
The Oxford Handbook of the Bible, Race, and Diaspora
(Oxford University Press, forthcoming in 2026), and co-author of
Postcolonialism and the Bible
(Bloomsbury, forthcoming in 2026). He serves on the editorial boards of
Currents in Biblical Research, Review of Biblical Literature,
and
Oxford Bibliographies Online: Biblical Studies.
He has written for publications such as
The Huffington Post, Sojourners, Christian Century,
and
Working Preacher.
Raj is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA). He is actively involved in the academy and the Church on issues such as race, economic justice and immigration. He chairs the Society of Biblical Literature (SBL)’s Committee on Underrepresented Racial and Ethnic Minorities in the Profession (CUREMP). He will co-lead the second Camino pilgrimage this summer (June 22-July 7).
