Learning at the Creative Edge: Imagining and Modeling the Future of Lifelong Learning for Ministry
February 3-5, 2027
What might lifelong learning for ministry become, and what pieces can we begin forming together now? Lifelong learning has long occupied a creative edge of theological education: close to the changing realities of ministry, responsive to emerging needs, and able to experiment with new forms of connection and learning. At this year’s ALLLM gathering, we’ll bring that creative spirit to the future of lifelong learning itself.
Using practices from the academic discipline of futuring, we’ll pay attention to changes already taking shape in our contexts, explore the forces influencing lifelong learning and theological education, and stretch our imaginations beyond the trajectories we currently assume. Futuring is not about predicting one future. It invites us to widen our field of vision, question our assumptions, and consider how the choices we make now might open or close possibilities for what comes next.
Come ready to reconnect and imagine, and leave with new relationships and fresh possibilities for your work!
